Infrastructure vs. the City
Fall 2017
Project location: Kolkata, India
This project was divided into two phases. The first consisted in the analysis of Kolkata and proposal of a new plan for the city, while the second was an architectural proposal that emerged as a consequence of the first. A linear cross-shaped building traversed a distance of approximately 9km to connect the four new mixed-use city nodes that were created. The programme consisted of dormitories for migrant labor workers, a tram line + bike lane transportation system, and public programs that supported the workers.
